YMCA NSW is pleased to announce it has been awarded the tender for the management and operation of the Sydney Olympic Park Lodge (SOPL).
Since 2010 the organisation has been privileged to represent Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) as Licensee of its key public asset. The new contract, commencing on 1 July, is for a three-year term with a two-year option attached.
YMCA NSW Interim CEO Lisa Giacomelli said the tender win was an exciting opportunity to continue to manage and operate SOPL – an urban camp nestled within the historic grounds of the Newington Armory.
“We highly value our presence at Sydney Olympic Park and we have so much more to offer,” Ms Giacomelli said.
“Our passionate and dedicated team will be delivering a diverse range of outdoor education, cultural, youth and vacation care activities. YMCA NSW prides itself on creating healthier, more connected communities and SOPL is an important part of delivering on our mission.”
Ms Giacomelli said by listening to customers and proactively seeking their feedback, YMCA NSW had been able to adjust services to make them more accessible, more supportive and tailored to individual needs.
Accommodating up to 165 people, the Lodge is a popular place to stay for sporting groups, regional school groups, large corporates and special interest groups. It incorporates a large dining room and hall along with an outdoor amphitheater, a full-size football/soccer field and three grass netball courts. Sporting equipment is also available.
Trained, professional staff can design a customised educational, recreational or leisure program with a host of activities around the Lodge to also take advantage of.
