After many years of promises on this front, finally, a supermarket in Sydney Olympic Park is scheduled to open in the second half of November. This will be an IGA and the approved hours of operation for the supermarket are 6.00am – 11.00pm seven days a week.
A bottle shop is planned as part of the supermarket and currently the liquor application is under assessment to determine the hours of operation.
This supermarket is a much-awaited amenity for local residents, and is close to the heart of Sydney Olympic Park’s commercial and residential district, on the corner of Figtree Drive and Australia Avenue.
One hour retail parking for customers will be available within the Mirvac Pavilions development, but with only 30 places here, this supermarket is primarily for those that live nearby, to shop locally and often, for the fresh produce this supermarket will provide.
It will also be very convenient for anyone and everyone who utilises the multitude of sport and recreational services in the park, to pop in and get their food and grocery supplies while they are here. For example, do a quick shop while your kids are at whatever they might be training at!
How wonderful that Sydney Olympic Park residents, workers and visitors will now have their very own, and locally managed supermarket.
