Sydney Olympic Park has been named the winner of “Regional Destination Marketing Organisation” for NSW at the prestigious Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) 2016 Industry Awards for the third year running, with Sydney Showground also winning the award for ”Banqueting and Catering”.
The MEA Industry Awards is number one in recognising and awarding best industry management practice and outstanding performance in the Australian meetings and events industry.
The category of Regional Destination Marketing Organisation judges the best business focusing on the destination marketing services delivered relating specifically to the convention and meetings market. The judging is not related to the size of the budget but on the quality of the services provided and the results obtained within the established parameters and objectives set.
With over 100 function spaces across 10 venues, in one destination, Sydney Olympic Park is equipped to cater to virtually any type of corporate event. The business events team at Sydney Olympic Park Authority work closely with all 10 venues to collectively market the precinct as a world class destination and the strength of collaboration with partners is key to the Park’s success.
The Sydney Olympic Park team will proceed to the National Awards event in Sydney on 2 May, when the winner will be announced at the MEA National Conference 2017 Gala Dinner.
