In the Circular Economy no waste goes to waste. Instead, it is kept in the economy or broken down and re-formed into something completely new that has its own intrinsic beauty and value.
The UNSW SMaRT Centre has developed revolutionary MICROfactorieTM technologies to turn waste materials such as glass and textiles, into ‘green ceramics’.
In collaboration with Mirvac these ‘green ceramics’ are used for the first time ever as a construction material, in an apartment at Pavilions, Sydney Olympic Park. Critically they comply with the Building Code and have passed the Mirvac quality test to verify that they are both durable and beautiful.
