A new team has been established to progress planning and development on Stage 2 of the Parramatta Light Rail following the NSW Government’s announcement to commit $50 million to the project, including $30 million in the NSW Budget 2021-22.
Led by Project Director Andrew Milne, the project team will focus on planning, utility, and geotechnical investigations, as well as progressing the development of an Environmental Impact Statement. Planning and design phases will be further developed in consultation with stakeholders and the community.
It’s an exciting next stage for Parramatta Light Rail, extending Stage 1, which is well under construction with more than 80 per cent of tracks laid across the 12-kilometre alignment.
After some years of uncertainty around Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2, it is looking very positive now with the significant initial Government investment into this project and the strong team being put together to progress this.
