Enjoy four new public art installations that respond to the unique spirit of the Park.
Silver Cascade – P1 Car Park pedestrian entry/exit
A site specific intervention of high kinetic and light sensitivity, affixed to the façade of P1 Car Park, directly above the main pedestrian ENTRY/EXIT.
Turning Point – P1 Car Park facade
This large black and white image next to the main vehicle entrance to P1 car park greets visitors as they arrive at the Park. It captures the moment before Melissa Wu, NSWIS alumnus, dove into history at the 2008 Beijing Olympics to become the youngest Australian to ever win and Olympic diving medal.
Pipe Dreams – Yulang
This trompe l’oeil artwork examines Olympic Park’s industrial history: how it has influenced the area’s social identity, shaped its landscape and fuelled Sydney’s growth. The photographic installation uncovers how industrial spaces drive the built environs we live in today.
D’Arcy’s Digital Dream Quilt – Pullman Hotel facade
A 3 minute looped animation that remixes the history of the Olympic Park community into a giant animated digital quilt.
The work, created specifically for the Pullman Hotel Projection site, consists of panels of looped animated gifs that form together to create a long, vertical scrolling quilt.
