Sydney Olympic Park Authority is seeking responses to an open tender to lease 1,500sqm retail floor space suitable for a supermarket and ancillary retail business situated within the new Pavilions by Mirvac development at 2 Figtree Drive.
The site is currently under development and will deliver a total of 705 apartments across four residential buildings in a high profile, easily accessible location with frontage onto Australia Avenue.
Charles Moore, CEO of Sydney Olympic Park Authority, said: “Our growing residential population as well as the 19,000 plus workers located at Sydney Olympic Park are currently travelling outside of the Park for their grocery shopping; it is important we can provide this service right here to improve liveability, with access to fresh food, as we continue to create a vibrant and diversified community.”
The commercial opportunity features:
• 1,500sqm of retail floor space located on the ground floor facing Australia Avenue
• 30 retail car spaces with access via a new road off Figtree Drive
• Excellent pedestrian access
Sydney Olympic Park currently has a community of over 10 million visitors, 19,000 workers and 3,000 residents, which is set to increase as an additional 2,000 apartments are expected to be delivered over the next five years. Future growth as outlined in the Sydney Olympic Park Master Plan 2030 will see a daily community of 23,500 residents and 34,000 workers.
“Sydney Olympic Park is building on considerable strengths, providing for a new and rapidly growing community of people who choose to live, work and play at the Park,” said Mr Moore. “Current and future development plans will provide the necessary infrastructure to ensure Sydney Olympic Park’s appeal and success at the centre of the Central City District of Greater Sydney.”
The open tender seeks a tenant to occupy the premises for a minimum fifteen years.
The tender closes on 31 July 2018.
