Hundreds of jobs and homes will be part of the growing Sydney Olympic Park following recent approval for a new residential and business development.
Minister for Planning and Housing, Anthony Roberts, said the approved 39-storey building would be a mix of offices, ground floor retail space, 229 apartments and car parking.
“Sydney Olympic Park will be a buzzing and exciting precinct by 2030, with world-class sporting events, entertainment, shops, cafes, restaurants and open space,” Mr Roberts said.
”The development will provide 350 construction jobs and 176 ongoing jobs once built and will generate more than $112 million during construction which is great for the local community”.
To ensure the adherence to unique and excellent design, a competitive process was undertaken to select the design and developer of the site. Ecove Group’s design used staggered terracotta coloured fins to bring warmth to the building and the ground level retail uses will create a vibrant street frontage.
“This development will provide greater housing choice with one, two, three and four-bedroom apartment styles to meet the different needs of future residents,” Mr Roberts said.
“People who call this site home will be within walking distance of a range of excellent facilities such as the aquatic centre and sports centre, and close to transport, shops, and parks.
“Outdoor space and trees are key components of the area. Residents and office workers to make better use of outdoor space, with outdoor terraces, a landscaped rooftop garden and parking spaces for nearly 400 bicycles.”
The site is located on the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Sarah Durack Avenue.
