As the end of 2019 approaches and people start to wind down and look forward to a summer break, I’d like to thank all our Business Association Members and supporters for your unfailing assistance over the year. Your support, input, suggestions and advocacy allows us to remain viable so we can continue to work constructively with all levels of government and our many, many stakeholders.
It was wonderful to end a year of advocacy with the release of the Greater Western Commission draft report into the concept of a Place-based Infrastructure Compact (PIC) for GPOP – Greater Parramatta and Olympic Peninsula. This is a strategic planning model that looks holistically at a place to better align growth with the provision of infrastructure and services. As we know, great places are made of many elements – how well connected and walkable they are; how close to jobs, local parks, shops and services are; how long it takes to get from ‘A’ to ‘B’; and how well-located schools and health service are. The new PIC model brings all these elements together through better planning. You can see a full summary of the draft report here and, you can provide your own input here
Supported by the Business Association, the exciting new app naveze has taken off to help you navigate Sydney Olympic Park no matter what’s on. Now you can get real-time step-by-step pedestrian navigation and directions; need to know information such as food and beverage options, venues, toilets, parking, bus stops, accessibility and more; points of interest such as historical or heritage sights, recreational or leisure options such as parklands and environmental features and special offers from retailers.
Check out the current version here with further features and functionality to come in future updates.
Finally, whatever you’re doing to celebrate the end of this year and the beginning of 2020, I wish you safe and joyous times with family and friends. And importantly, have fun!
Warm regards,
Allison Taylor
