Replacement of Existing Roof to Enhance Event Experience at ANZ Stadium Ahead of Redevelopment

It has helped keep more than 24 million fans dry since 1999, but ANZ Stadium’s existing roof is being replaced to immediately enhance the fan experience at major sporting and entertainment events.

More than 400 roof panels – or 4.5 hectares of roof sheeting – is currently being replaced as part of the Olympic stadium’s Facilities Management Maintenance Program.

Concert Season Ignites at ANZ Stadium

February marks the beginning of a massive two months of concerts at ANZ Stadium, with Guns N’ Roses, Adele and Justin Bieber all taking to the stage.

More than 350,000 fans will flock to Sydney Olympic Park for the blockbuster concerts, kicking off with Legendary rockers Guns N’ Roses Not in this Lifetime Tour this Friday 10 and Saturday 11 February.

Chinese New Year at Sydney Olympic Park

Sydney Olympic Park welcomed the Year of the Rooster in spectacular style, with a traditional lion dance making its way through the streets as part of the Park’s first Chinese New Year celebrations.

With a morning dance to greet residents, workers, students and visitors coming off the train and a midday dance to entertain those lunching in the Park, the festivities reflected the cultural diversity of the local community in Sydney Olympic Park and surrounding suburbs.

Another Year of Success for Movies by the Boulevard

Another year of Sydney Olympic Park’s Movies by the Boulevard has come to an end, drawing in thousands of visitors in January. With such a diverse range of movies being screened, there was something for everyone.

Australia Day saw a special screening of 'Red Dog: True Blue', a new Australian film. Festivities started in the late afternoon with jumping castles and kids activities and a magnificent fireworks display as the sun went down, and ended with the picnic blankets covering the Park as families and friends settled in for the movie.
