Global nutrition company, Herbalife Nutrition, demonstrates its dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility in many ways. For 25 years, the company’s philanthropic arm, Herbalife Nutrition Foundation (HNF), has been dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world by helping provide access to healthy meals and nutrition education by supporting local charities. Its Casa Herbalife program, the key initiative of HNF, provides nutritious meals to children in vulnerable communities by partnering with existing charities and organisations like orphanages, hospitals, schools, and non-governmental programs.
Through their involvement in employee CSR activities, Herbalife Nutrition staff develop an appreciation of the many ways they can give back to the community and help make the world healthier and happier. Jane Jiang, Herbalife Nutrition’s Human Resources Business Partner ANZ, always had beautiful, waist-length hair. She decided to cut her hair and donate it to charity when her hairdresser informed her it was long enough (35.5cm) to benefit others – to make wigs for people who had lost their hair due to a chronic medical conditions like cancer. Jane set the date and donated her mane to Variety, an Australian children’s charity that helps children and their families with equipment, therapy, medical supplies and other essentials. “It’s great that my hair was able to make a difference for children who are suffering from long term illness, giving is a bigger blessing than receiving”, said Jane.
