Herbalife Family Foundation Expand Their Casa Herbalife Program with Sunshine Butterflies to Boost Nutrition Support for Children Living with Disability
The Herbalife Family Foundation have expanded their Casa Herbalife program in Australia to support Queensland’s Sunshine Butterflies. The Herbalife Family Foundation is a non-profit corporation, which establishes partnerships with various organisations locally and globally to bring good nutrition to children in need through financial and volunteer support. Sunshine Butterflies is the fourth organisation supported by the Herbalife Family Foundation in Australia.
Sunshine Butterflies is a non-profit charity that provides support to babies, kids, teens and adults living with a disability and their families. They also educate individuals living with a disability about nutrition, healthy eating and active lifestyles for people of all abilities.
Under their flagship Casa Herbalife Program, the Herbalife Family Foundation will specifically support Sunshine Butterflies’ children’s Cooking & Nutrition Program, to allow children/young adults living with a disability to cook easy, healthy, nutritional meals in an educational and supportive environment. The program will also be made available to siblings of children/young adults living with a disability, school groups, and kindergartens, broadening the reach throughout the community.
“We are overjoyed with the generous funding from the Herbalife Family Foundation,” Sunshine Butterflies Founder Leanne Walsh said. “This support will allow our cooking program to provide lifelong benefits to children living with disability.”
Rod Taylor, General Manager of Herbalife Nutrition Australia and New Zealand, values the importance of giving back to the community, and continuously works with the Herbalife Nutrition team to help organisations deliver nutrition and nutrition education programs to disadvantaged children within Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
“Many young children with disabilities have health issues that can impact their nutritional well-being and eating habits. Therefore, we are so proud that our support can help children embrace a healthy and nutritious diet, which will be so vital for their development later in life,” said Rod Taylor. “This relationship is a testament to our generous Herbalife Nutrition members and employees, who are continuously donating their time and funds to support the organisations within our Casa Herbalife program. We are thrilled to support Sunshine Butterflies, and look forward to working with the team to ensure our support results in positive outcomes for the whole community.”
Herbalife Nutrition members and employees will be encouraged to participate in Sunshine Butterflies volunteer opportunities. This includes their Baby Bridges Early Intervention Program sessions where Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists and Special Education Coordinators help children improve development during gym play, yoga and swimming therapies. Herbalife Nutrition Members and Employees can also assist children with Fitability, a sports, games and fitness program giving children of all abilities the chance to partake in activities at their own pace in a safe and supportive environment. During 2018, a launch celebration, working bees and healthy cooking sessions will also be organised.
In Australia, as well as Sunshine Butterflies, Herbalife Family Foundation also supports Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, Lighthouse Foundation in Melbourne and The Infants’ Home in Sydney.
