City of Parramatta is inviting the community to help shape the future of the CBD South Parramatta precinct.
Feedback is now open on a draft Master Plan designed to transform the area into a more vibrant, walkable, and culturally activated destination.
The proposed vision includes a new city square, upgraded laneways and streets, improved pedestrian connections, and the creation of a vibrant Chinatown and nightlife precinct aimed at supporting dining, retail, outdoor activation and community events.
Key proposals include a new 1,300-square-metre civic space for gatherings and cultural activities, expanded outdoor dining opportunities, and street upgrades prioritising pedestrians, safer crossings and improved cycling connections. The plan also aims to strengthen activation across laneways and arcades to support a more connected day and night economy within Parramatta’s CBD.
The proposed Chinatown precinct would revitalise the southern end of Church Street through public art, laneway dining, cultural experiences and new business opportunities. City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the vision would help bring more culture, colour and activity to the area while supporting economic growth.
The Master Plan comes as Parramatta continues major transformation projects across the CBD, including the upcoming Powerhouse Parramatta and Sydney Metro West.
Community feedback is open throughout June, with submissions closing at 5pm on Tuesday 23 June 2026.
