As part of the National Trust Heritage Festival, Cultural heritage and Tourism is launching two new city walks which examine the period of first contact between our Aboriginal traditional owners and the colonists in Parramatta.
The walks provide a rare opportunity to look closely at the lives of individual Aboriginal people during this tumultuous time, through their interactions with government, military, convicts and settlers, and to consider the complex nature of first contact.
There will be a sneak preview of one of the tours, First Contact – Trade, Friendships and Conflict on Monday 9 March.
