A message to the Sydney Olympic Park community and our efforts to prevent COVID-19
Our primary concern is the safety of our visitors and staff.
We ask all visitors to work with us in our efforts to prevent COVID-19 and be vigilant in their personal hygiene, social distancing and avoid attending our venues if unwell.
Sydney Olympic Park Authority will continue to review its management of venues following expert advice from NSW Health and the Commonwealth Government.
Whilst we apologise for any disruption, we trust you understand our decisions and role in supporting public health.
What venues does Sydney Olympic Park Authority manage?
Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, Athletic Centre, Quaycentre, Hockey Centre, Sports Halls and Archery Centre are all managed by Sydney Olympic Park Authority.
ANZ Stadium, Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney Showground and the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre are all privately managed venues.
What venues have closed, and what venues are still operating?
Can I attend a gathering with less than 100?
With gatherings less than 100 people, it is still appropriate to attend if:
- You do not have any symptoms of fever, shortness of breath, cough or sore throat AND
- You have not travelled to countries identified at Smartraveller in the past 14 days AND
- You have not been in direct contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
What precautions are we taking?
We have installed additional hand sanitiser stations throughout our venues as well as increased cleaning and more regular disinfecting of surfaces.
Signage has been placed throughout our venues to help communicate the importance of hand washing, covering your sneezes or coughs, and staying home if unwell.
Certain activities have been modified where possible and without compromising safety to ensure social distancing is practised.
Our cleaners have response kits ready in the event of a confirmed case of COVID-19 at our venue, and are using the latest hospital grade cleaning materials.
Increased cleaning protocols for gymnastics are in place including deliberate handwashing of all participants at the commencement of lessons; modification of certain physical activities to minimise social distancing; wiping and cleaning of equipment between classes and after lessons.
