Sydneysiders can now toast the weekend with a drink at some of our favourite parks and public spaces. Vaccinated Sydneysiders have embraced the easing of restrictions and are out picnicking in record numbers.
After an incredibly tough winter, people who followed the rules and received both jabs deserve to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer. All COVID rules must continue to be followed, and it is vital that everyone drinks responsibly, disposes of all rubbish, and enjoys our beautiful parks safely and responsibly
People who have been double-jabbed and who live within a 5km radius of the parks – or in the same LGA – will be able to have a bottle of wine under an open sky.
“Vaccinated Sydneysiders have embraced the easing of restrictions and are out picnicking in record numbers across our parks and public spaces,” Public Spaces Minister Rob Stokes said.
Drinking will be allowed during daylight hours at the following Olympic precinct parks until Sunday 31 October, 2021:
Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park
Blaxland Riverside Park, Sydney Olympic Park
Cathy Freeman Park, Sydney Olympic Park
Newington Armory, Sydney Olympic Park
Wentworth Common, Sydney Olympic Park
