Artist and local resident Christina Tsaou had a vision to beautify a blank wall at the pedestrian-rail underpass between Australia Towers and Opal Tower. With positive feedback from the community throughout concept to completion, the painted mural depicts eight koi fish in different colours as a representation of our diverse community connected in harmony.
Christine explained that “this piece is about us. Our community, our society, humanity as a big Family. Despite where we come from and what made is who we are today, we are all the same race and we should take care of each other. I got your back and you got mine. Because alone, you will go faster but together we can go further.”
The mural was completed by Christina in June 2023 and supported by SOPA with micro-funding and staff expertise.
