Filming of Season 5 of Australian Ninja Warrior has commenced and will continue in March, located at the Qudos Bank Arena forecourt and surrounds.
The filming will occur over several nights, with contingency plans in place if wet weather affects filming. The Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) will endeavour to communicate any changes to the schedule wherever possible.
Expected filming dates: 4 – 6, 10, 12 and 15 March.
Sound Levels
On each evening, filming has been approved from 8.30pm to 4.30am, however it is anticipated that on most nights filming will conclude much earlier.
The filming of Ninja Warrior will also include a live studio audience, intermittent music, and commentary. This noise will be limited, and precautions have been taken to minimise any impact on residential areas.
Appropriate sound levels have been set as part of the approval and an accredited acoustic engineer will be engaged throughout the filming to ensure the sound meets the NSW EPA noise regulations.
If you have any concerns relating to noise from Ninja Warrior, you can contact the Community Hotline on 0410 478 713. It is encouraged to contact the hotline during the time of filming, so that the necessary action can be taken at the time rather than after filming has finished.
Fireworks and Close Proximity Pyrotechnics
On any of the event nights, low impact ground level special effects pyrotechnics will occur prior to 10pm, and some will occur post 10pm if a contestant finishes a stage of the course.
On one filming night there is an aerial firework display that will occur before 10pm. This is scheduled for 10 March pending weather conditions.
Traffic and transport
Olympic Boulevard will be closed between Edwin Flack Avenue and Grand Parade from 7am Sunday 21st February to 6pm Tuesday 16 March. Traffic detours will be in place. Public transport and existing cyclists travel routes will not be impacted. Pedestrians will be required to walk around the site compound once fencing is in place.
Event attendees consist of invited audience only, with a maximum of 500 people at any one time and strictly abiding to any public health orders at that time. The audience will drive and park on site at P1 parking station, or alternatively are encouraged to catch public transport where possible.
COVID-19 Safety Plan
Endemol Shine Australia has implemented a COVID-19 Safety Plan in accordance with NSW Health guidelines. Endemol Shine Australia will continue to monitor the advice of the NSW Government and adjust the plan accordingly.
