Open Tender: Lease for Sydney Olympic Park’s First Supermarket

Sydney Olympic Park Authority is seeking responses to an open tender to lease 1,500sqm retail floor space suitable for a supermarket and ancillary retail business situated within the new Pavilions by Mirvac development at 2 Figtree Drive.

The site is currently under development and will deliver a total of 705 apartments across four residential buildings in a high profile, easily accessible location with frontage onto Australia Avenue.

Sunday Night State of Origin Success

Congratulations to the NSW Blues on their Herculean effort to claim only their second State of Origin series victory in 13 years with an 18-14 game two win in front of 82,223 at ANZ Stadium on the last Sunday in June. It was a superb game with the stakes intensifying as drama upon drama unfolded right to the last minute.

The Sunday night game was a major success allowing patrons to arrive early and with ease and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere.

GWS Giants extends CEO Contract

GIANTS Chief Executive Officer David Matthews has agreed to a contract extension that will see his tenure at the club extend beyond a decade.

GIANTS Chairman Tony Shepherd today announced the three-year contract extension through until the end of 2021.

Mr Matthews assumed the role as GIANTS Chief Executive Officer in November 2011 following more than a decade as a member of the AFL Executive.

Common Parking Fines in NSW Reduced by 25 Percent

In an effort to take a "simpler and fairer" approach to parking and fines, the NSW Government will now cut fines by 25 per cent in areas such as Sydney Olympic Park, Centennial Park, the Royal Botanic Gardens and Parramatta Park.

Commencing July 1 the current $110 penalty is reduced to $80 in areas the State Government polices.

Plans for 12m ‘Sprinter’ Revealed for WestConnex

The Sydney Motorway Corporation has released plans to place the 12M tall, 2.5 tonne monument 'The Sprinter', on a strip of land where WestConnex meets Homebush Bay Drive.

Until recently, the sculpture created by Sydney artist Dominique Sutton for the 2000 Olympic Games was located on the corner of Edwin Flack and Dawn Fraser Avenues, near the Olympic Park Athletic Centre.
