World Class Surfing Destined For Sydney Olympic Park

Plans for an open water surf sports lagoon at Sydney Olympic Park have been given the green light by the Department of Planning and Environment.

The $24 million wave park will create 225 jobs and offer a variety of activities for all ages, Executive Director of Key Sites and Industry Assessments, Anthea Sargeant said.

'This is a wonderful opportunity to give the people of western Sydney easy access to fun, healthy outdoor recreational facilities,' Ms Sargeant said.

Waterview in Bicentennial Park Partners With LIVE2RIDE

LIVE 2 RIDE is an initiative created by family friends of little Zane who was involved in a tragic accident. The Urasli family are raising public awareness and funds for organ donation at Westmead Children’s Hospital. Zane’s family generously donated his organs to help others, as a result 4 children and 1 adult have a better chance at life.

LIVE 2 RIDE is a positive community initiative, meeting at Sydney Olympic Park’s P5 car park, from 8.30am-10.30am, on Sunday the 10th of December 2017.

Sydney Derby Double-Header Kicks Off Summer of Football

Records fell and history was made when the Wanderers stepped out for the first-ever Sydney Derby at ANZ Stadium last year . . . and now the books will be rewritten again, with the Wanderers to host the first-ever Hyundai A-League/Westfield W-League Sydney Derby double-header this Saturday.

The historic event will see fans get a double dose of the most ferocious Derby in the country and is sure to be a cracking day out for the whole family.

The pop goddess will be returning to the scene of her phenomenal 2015 show that saw more than 76,000 fans turn out for one of the Stadium’s iconic concert moments and was eventually immortalised in her 1989 World Tour Live DVD.

FREE Christmas Show to Entertain Massive Crowds on 9 December

More than 80,000 visitors are expected at Sydney Olympic Park on 9 December for various events including the A-League's biggest game on the calendar - the Sydney Derby double-header, with the Western Sydney Wanderers to take on Sydney FC and the Sydney Kings to up against Brisbane at Qudos Bank Arena.

Ticketholders who plan to arrive early on the day will find plenty of FREE family-friendly festivities at the Park from 4pm-7pm.

2,000 Students Immersed in Sustainability at Youth Eco Summit

Primary school students and teachers from across NSW converged at Sydney Olympic Park on 16 and 17 November to learn and participate in the curriculum-based sustainability event, Youth Eco Summit (YES) 2017.

A sustainability expo designed to engage young people in learning and action around sustainability, futures thinking and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) curriculum, YES is now in its seventh year.

Introducing the 2017 NSW Hall of Champions Inductees

During last month’s 2017 NSW Sports Awards ceremony, six outstanding athletes were honoured as the newest additions to Sydney Olympic Park’s NSW Hall of Champions museum.

Five new athletes were officially inducted into NSW Hall of Champions display – with Michael Clarke (Cricket), Matthew Mitcham OAM (Diving), Matthew Nielsen (Basketball), Rochelle Gilmore (Cycling) and Warren Birmingham (Hockey) – taking the total number of honourees to 372 athletes, representing 55 different sports.
