NSW Government Confirms ANZ Stadium will be Transformed into a World-Class 75,000-seat Rectangular Stadium

ANZ Stadium will be transformed in to one of the world’s great rectangular stadiums as part of a significant investment in sporting and entertainment facilities in this State, the NSW Premier announced today.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said that works will begin on a new 75,000-seat rectangular stadium in 2019, with the aim that Sydney will have a new major events rectangular Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park by 2022.

Greater Sydney Commission Revised Plan Released and on Exhibition until 15 December 2017

In response to submissions and feedback from stakeholder and community engagement, the Greater Sydney Commission has released revised new plans aligned to the draft Greater Sydney Region Plan.

The Greater Sydney Region Plan and Transport for NSW’s (TfNSW) draft Future Transport 2056 Strategy have been developed in coordination to ensure Sydney’s long-term land use and transport plans are aligned and deeply integrated.

Successful Western Sydney Airport Conference at Waterview in Bicentennial Park

Business Association advocacy partner, Sydney Business Chamber, Western Sydney held its Creating Australia’s Best Airport City Conference on 1 November at Waterview in Bicentennial Park.

The conference attracted more than 350 attendees to Sydney Olympic Park and included guest speakers such as NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, Federal Urban Infrastructure Minister Paul Fletcher and Denver Office of Economic Development Executive Director Eric Hiraga.

NRMA Announces New Chairman

The NRMA announced at its Annual General Meeting in Newcastle on 3 November that Director, Tim Trumper, has been appointed Chairman.

Mr Trumper was first appointed to the Board in May 2014 to fill a casual vacancy position, and subsequently elected to the Board by Members in the 2015 Board election.

He has been appointed Chairman by his fellow Directors with unanimous support and will commence in the role on 3 December 2017, when current Chairman Kyle Loades completes his term.

Mosquito Management Program 2017-18

Sydney Olympic Park, like a number of other areas along the Parramatta River, contains extensive wetland and saltmarsh areas, which are natural breeding habitats for saltwater mosquitoes.

Saltwater mosquitoes (Aedes vigilax) can reach particularly nuisance levels each year during their breeding season, which takes place in the warmer months.

Rising Rugby League Stars Set to Shine at New $20 Million High Performance Centre

Hundreds of promising rugby league players, along with established champions of the game are set to benefit, with construction underway on the New South Wales Rugby League Centre of Excellence at Sydney Olympic Park.

NSW Sports Minister Stuart Ayres was joined by NSWRL Chairman Dr George Peponis, CEO David Trodden, NRL Legend Brad Fittler and Jillaroo Corban McGregor to lay a Foundation Stone for the high-performance facility.
