New Parramatta Light Rail Route to Slash Olympic Park Travel Times

The Parramatta Light Rail will provide reliable and modern public transport service to Sydney Olympic Park, with the NSW Government recently announcing plans for the stage 2 extension of the project.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian confirmed planning for Stage 2 was underway and is expected to be completed throughout 2018.

The Western Sydney Airport conference will provide an opportunity to bring together regional stakeholders, government agencies, business and the Western Sydney community leadership to participate in a discussion that explores a range of issues including opportunities for industry attraction, procurement, governance, planning and design.

The conference is being delivered be the Sydney Business Chamber, Western Sydney, in partnership with the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, and the NSW Government Department of Industry.

Venus Williams Returns to Sydney International

Seven-time Grand Slam champion and world No.5 Venus Williams (USA) will headline the Sydney International women’s field this summer, 20 years since her last appearance at the event.

Runner-up to Arantxa Sánchez-Vicario (ESP) in the women’s singles final in 1998, Williams has gone on to win 49 WTA career titles, four Olympic gold medals and seven Grand Slam championships.

Changes to Street Parking in Station Precinct

New street parking conditions will be introduced from Monday 9 October adjacent to the train station, along Dawn Fraser & Murray Rose Avenues on non-event days. These changes are to help customers and retail business.
P15 minute zones will change to P30 minutes between 6am & 7pm (with exception of the 15 minute zone near the ATM & heritage precinct stairs)
P30 minute zones will remain P30 minutes between 6am & 7pm
2P Parking will be in place between 7pm & 6am in the zones

Car Park Shuttle Trial

The Sydney Olympic Park Authority are trialling a new car park shuttle during the business peak hours to support the growing workforce at Sydney Olympic Park.

The shuttle will operate on a 15 minute frequency, from 6.45am-9.45am and 3.30pm–6.30pm on business days*, with stops at P3 Car Park and Park St.

The creative talents of News South Wales’ school students from Kindergarten through to Year 10 are on display as almost 800 artworks fill the Armory Gallery at Sydney Olympic Park for Operation Art.

Operation Art is the premier state-wide visual arts exhibition for students and a wonderful opportunity for the community to engage with the imagination and artistic achievements of the younger generation.

Sydney Olympic Park Marks 17th Anniversary

On 15 September 2000, the world watched Cathy Freeman ignite the Cauldron to open what was subsequently described as 'the best Games ever'. 17 years later, the legacy of the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games has been re-imagined into a vibrant place to live, work, learn and play.

The ongoing transformation of Sydney Olympic Park was celebrated at Cathy Freeman Park, where the Olympic Cauldron burnt brightly on Friday 15 September 2017.
