Our City, Our Say

The City of Parramatta are seeking expressions of interest from community members with knowledge of Parramatta’s rich and diverse heritage, including Darug people, other Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islanders; and members of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities to participate in a Community Heritage Interpretation Working Group as part of the development of Parramatta Square.

In order to embed Parramatta’s heritage values into the development, heritage interpretation planning is underway for the Public Domain and 5 Parramatta Square. We want to engage community participation through a Community Heritage Interpretation Working Group.

There are two workshops planned:
Saturday 12th May 2018, 9:15-3:30pm Planning for Parramatta Square Interpretation
Saturday 26th May 2018, 9:15-3:30pm Further development and confirmation.
Note: there will be ‘homework’ between the workshops including research, reflection, and conversations/communications with extended communities.

As part of the selection criteria, interested applicants would need to be able to attend the workshops on both days. Members who attend both workshops, and contribute through further activities between the workshops will receive a $400 Gift Voucher at completion.

Expressions of Interest close: 2pm, Friday 20th April 2018.
